CISSP Training

Audience:

Employees of federal, state and local governments; and businesses working with the government.

Prerequisites:

The CISSP® training program is targeted at professionals with at least 4-5 years of experience in the information security field or 3 years of experience and a college degree (or equivalent life experience).  It is highly recommended that you have started to read up on the domains included in the course.  This is not a course that you want to go into without preparation.

Course Description:

World recognized as a measure of an information assurance (IA) professional’s understanding of critical knowledge, the CISSP certification from (ISC)² is essential for information technology architects, designers and managers in both business and government environments.  The certification attests to the knowledge IA professionals have in the newly re-aligned and refreshed 8 domains of information security programs.  The updated certification exam reflects the constantly evolving nature of the industry and measures the essential managerial and technical skills required of todays IA professional. 

The new 8 domains included in the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) include:

  • Security and Risk Management (Security, Risk, Compliance, Law, Regulations, Business Continuity)

  • Asset Security (Protecting Security of Assets)

  • Security Engineering (Engineering and Management of Security)

  • Communications and Network Security (Designing and Protecting Network Security)

  • Identity and Access Management (Controlling Access and Managing Identity)

  • Security Assessment and Testing (Designing, Performing, and Analyzing Security Testing)

  • Security Operations (Foundational Concepts, Investigations, Incident Management, Disaster Recovery)

  • Software Development Security (Understanding, Applying, and Enforcing Software Security)
