Please Read Before Attending — This Is Important
We highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend that you study the CISSP domains before coming to training. The CISSP exam is no joke.
This is not the type of class you can walk into without prior domain knowledge and expect to be successful at the end. Occasionally we get students who take that approach — it does not work. Use the class as a knowledge gap filler. You need to study before training, and then study even more afterward if you want to pass.
Below are the resources we recommend. Use them.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is CISSP certification and who needs it?
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is the gold-standard cybersecurity certification issued by (ISC)². It validates expertise across eight security domains, from risk management and cryptography to network security and software development security. CISSP is required or strongly preferred for senior cybersecurity roles across federal agencies, DoD commands, and private sector organizations. It is also listed as an approved certification under DoD 8570/DoD 8140 for IAM Level III positions.
How long is IT Dojo's CISSP training course?
IT Dojo's CISSP course is a 5-day intensive bootcamp. It is available as live remote online training or on-site at your facility. The course covers all eight domains of the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) and is designed to prepare experienced security professionals to sit for the certification exam.
What experience is required before taking CISSP training?
CISSP training is designed for experienced security professionals with at least 4–5 years of IT security experience (or 3 years plus a college degree). It is recommended that students hold CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications or equivalent experience before attending. To earn the CISSP credential, candidates must also meet (ISC)²'s requirement of five years of paid work experience in two or more of the eight CBK domains.
Is CISSP training available online?
Yes. IT Dojo offers CISSP training as live remote online instruction. Students connect to a live class led by a certified instructor — not a pre-recorded video — and can interact via chat or microphone. Online classes are capped at 16 students to ensure each participant gets individual attention.
Does IT Dojo's CISSP course include exam prep?
Yes. The course is structured as exam-focused preparation covering all eight CBK domains. IT Dojo recommends students begin studying at least one month before attending, as the breadth of CISSP material is substantial. Students who arrive with foundational knowledge benefit most from the course as a comprehensive final review before sitting the exam.
Is CISSP training available for DoD contractors and federal employees?
Yes. IT Dojo works exclusively with federal government agencies, DoD commands, military branches, and the contractors that support them. CISSP training is employer-sponsored only — meaning your organization registers and pays for seats on your behalf. IT Dojo does not enroll individual self-paying students.
