Today’s CISSP question topic: Physical Security – Locks

The storage room in your office is equipped with an electronic lock that is configured to fail secure. What does this mean?

  1. Electricity keeps the lock engaged. If the power goes out, the lock with disengage, allowing the door to open.
  2. There is no current flowing to the door. In an emergency, a electric current will lock the door.
  3. Electricity keeps the lock disengaged. If the power goes out, the lock will engage, locking the door.
  4. The lock can be controlled from a central location and locked/unlocked remotely.
  5. The emergency systems in the building will unlock the door in the event of an emergency.
  6. The emergency systems in the building will lock the door in the event of an emergency.
