Course Duration

3 Half-Day Sessions (13.5 Hours)

Audience

Employees of federal, state and local governments; and businesses working with the government.

Prerequisites

Foundational product management knowledge through formal training or experience in the role, and access to at least one generative AI tool during class (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot; two is preferred).

Course Description

Most product managers are still using generative AI like a faster search engine. This immersive, hands-on course closes that gap and prepares mid-level product managers to put AI to work across the full product lifecycle. Working a single realistic case study (a financial services mobile onboarding product) while carrying a product of your own in parallel, you will move from market research to a working prototype and an executive-ready roadmap. Along the way you build a reusable prompt library, discovery and requirements artifacts, a clickable prototype, a metrics plan, an AI governance audit, and a personal 30/90-day AI adoption roadmap.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain what generative AI can and cannot do for product work
  • Prompt effectively with a repeatable structure across major AI tools
  • Accelerate discovery and synthesize customer interviews into insight
  • Generate enterprise-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases
  • Use AI for prioritization, trade-off analysis, and strategy stress tests
  • Analyze product data and verify AI analysis before trusting it
  • Generate clickable prototypes and refine them in plain language
  • Manage AI governance, privacy, and bias in product work
