IPv6 Migration Training Outline:

This four-day training sessions was designed for network professionals (engineers, system admins, security professionals, IT managers) who need to learn the details of IPv6 implementation.

ITdojo’s vendor-neutral IPv6 transition training seminar explores the details of IPv6 and analyzes its behavior in a network. During this four-day, instructor-led, lab intensive seminar you will learn:

• The highs & lows of IPv4 and how IPv6 fixes IPv4 gaps
• In detail, how IPv6 addressing works
• IPv6 packet structure, including supporting protocol structures
• The behaviors of ICMPv6, IPv6 Multicasting, IPv6 Extension Headers, Stateful & Stateless Autoconfiguration, tunneling and migration strategies (Teredo, ISATAP, etc.)
• How to deploy IPv6 on Cisco® routers, Windows servers & desktops as well as Linux.
• Migration and integration strategies and the pros and cons of the many options available

Lab Exercises Include:

• Verifying IPv4 functionality Installing IPv6 on Windows XP Professional, server 2003 & Linux
• Working with netsh on Windows viewing IPv6 global configuration parameters
• Analyzing IPv6 packets using wireshark (wireshark)
• Configuring basic IPv6 using Cisco® IOS
• Examining basic Cisco® IOS IPv6 functionality Configuring global unicast prefixes and capturing router advertisements
• Verifying IPv6 connectivity on your network segment
• Configuring and testing a manual IPv6 tunnel
• Configuring connectivity to the IPv6 internet using a tunnel broker

Prerequisites:

Participants should have a solid networking background with a thorough understanding of IP version 4.

What’s Included: 

This 4 day intructor-led training session provides participants with a comprehensive and technical overview of IPv6 Migration.  Our courseware is developed in-house, allowing us to give our clients the most up-to-date information in this area of study as well as the incorporation of real world networking experiences. Each participant will receive:

• An IPv6 Textbook
• A printed manual that includes all power point slides
• A copy of the lab manual, allowing participants to go back over labs until they feel comfortable with them
• Participants will have access to their own rack of equipment to complete labs.
• The ability to remote into racks from home for further study after classes (as long as rack space is available)
• One-on-one help during labs
